WHAT TO BRING

GRADE 5

  • This tour requires at least one participant to be an intermediate or advanced-level climber, with experience in belaying using an ATC or GriGri and prior outdoor climbing. Participants with no desire to climb will still enjoy this outing as a guided hike to one of the most spectacular spots in the Snowies.

For larger or mixed-skill groups, K7 can accommodate less experienced climbers by adding a second guide, ensuring safety and enjoyment for all participants.

  • Arrival and Gear Up: Join your K7 Adventures guide at Charlotte's Pass Carpark. Here, you'll be equipped with all the necessary climbing gear provided by K7 Adventures.

Scenic Trek to Blue Lake: Set off on a beautiful 4km trek along the Main Range walking track, leading to the breathtaking Blue Lake. (60-90 minutes)

Cultural Introduction and Safety Briefing: Begin your climbing experience with an introduction to the local Indigenous culture, paying respect to the traditional landowners. Your guide will then conduct a safety briefing, covering the use of traditional climbing equipment and essential communication protocols.

Climbing Adventure: Engage in two to three granite trad climbs, each showcasing different trad climbing techniques. Under the guidance of your instructor, you'll delve into the fundamentals of trad leading, rope work, top-down belaying, and abseil setup, all while receiving continuous support and guidance.

Reflection and Sharing: At the end of your climbing journey, take a moment to share and reflect on the day's experiences, achievements, and unforgettable moments with your fellow adventurers.

Journey Back and Gear Return: Conclude your adventure with a leisurely walk back to the Charlottes Pass trailhead and return your climbing gear and bid farewell to your guide.

Please Note: The duration of climbing and abseiling activities may vary based on the group's pace and experience levels. Safety is always paramount throughout the tour.
